Forget About That Guy
One bad encounter with a mean-spirited driver can really ruin your drive time. Sometimes it can ruin your whole day. If you let it. In the great scheme of things inconsiderate people are best quickly forgotten. Get on with your day. Forgive and forget and get on about your business.
Road rage can have an enormous domino effect. One driver’s actions effects every other driver. That guy gets insulted or thinks he’s been insulted – he retaliates, other drivers get involved, they react and before you know it the entire road is strewn with anger and misbehavior. All this bad mojo can only result in a virus of ill-will. At worst it can result, and often does, in injury. To quote Tevye, the hero of The Fiddler on the Roof when a neighbor suggests An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. “Very good. That way the whole world will be blind and toothless.”
No doubt you’ve been “that guy” yourself, caught up in the drama of your own life, driving your vehicle like a loaded weapon.
Take a breath if you’ve encountered a rager, don’t respond, and move safely away. And forget about that guy.
